HeartLens Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, opening, or using HeartLens, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and the Medical Disclaimer included below. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.

2. Service Description

HeartLens provides two measurement modes: fingertip measurement using the rear camera and flashlight, and face measurement using the front camera and a supported DeepAffex/Anura service. The app may provide measurement records, history views, confidence indicators, membership features, and wellness reference information. App outputs are for general wellness tracking and lifestyle reference only.

3. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use HeartLens for any of the following purposes:

• Diagnosing, treating, preventing, monitoring, or mitigating any disease or medical condition.
• Emergency care, urgent risk assessment, or replacing emergency services.
• Medication decisions, stopping medication, changing treatment plans, or replacing professional medical advice.
• Providing medical judgments, screening conclusions, or health guarantees for another person.
• Using the app while driving, exercising, operating equipment, or in any situation where looking at or handling a phone may be unsafe.

4. Accuracy of Results

Measurements may be affected by many factors, including fingertip coverage, pressure, movement, ambient light, skin condition, fingertip temperature, device camera, flashlight brightness, system performance, and sampling stability.

As a result, heart rate values, confidence scores, signal quality, trends, and suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suitable for your circumstances. For abnormal results, rest and measure again, and use a medical-grade device when accuracy matters.

5. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for using the app carefully based on your own physical condition. If you have cardiovascular disease, a chronic condition, are pregnant, are taking medication, have an implanted medical device, or have any health concern, consult a qualified medical professional.

If you feel fingertip discomfort, heat, pain, dizziness, chest tightness, or any other discomfort while using the app, stop using it immediately.

6. Data and Account Management

HeartLens may create or use an account session and device registration through its backend. Measurement, purchase, membership, device, and attribution information may be transmitted to HeartLens service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. Local records may also be stored on your device.

You are responsible for managing measurement records stored on your device and for protecting access to your account and phone. Clearing local records or uninstalling the app may permanently delete local data but may not delete server-side records. Be careful when sharing your phone, screenshots, or screen recordings because they may reveal health-related information.

7. Camera Permissions and Third-Party Services

You must grant camera permission to use either measurement mode. Face measurement may send camera-derived measurement payloads to the DeepAffex/Anura service for processing. Facebook and AppsFlyer SDKs may process device, app, attribution, and usage information according to the Privacy Policy and their own terms.

You must not attempt to interfere with the camera pipeline, measurement service, SDKs, account security, or service endpoints, or use the app to collect another person's information without appropriate permission.

8. Intellectual Property

The HeartLens interface, design, text, algorithm implementation, icons, name, and related content are protected by applicable laws. Except where permitted by law, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or otherwise exploit any part of the app without permission.

9. Changes and Termination

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features for product, compliance, or technical reasons. We may also fix errors, adjust measurement logic, change the interface, or update text. When changes are significant, we will try to provide reasonable notice.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HeartLens is provided as is. We do not guarantee that results will always be accurate, continuous, timely, fit for a particular purpose, or error-free. You use and rely on app outputs at your own risk.

11. Medical Disclaimer

HeartLens is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, or monitor disease. It is not intended for emergency care and does not replace advice from physicians, nurses, pharmacists, or other healthcare professionals.

The app estimates heart rate by using the rear camera to observe color changes in your fingertip or by using the front camera for face-based measurement. These methods can be affected by external conditions and are not equivalent to an ECG, a medical-grade pulse oximeter, a clinical monitor, or a medical examination.

If you experience chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, persistent dizziness, confusion, noticeable palpitations, ongoing discomfort, or you believe you may be experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or a medical professional immediately.

HeartLens is not suitable for post-surgical monitoring, chronic disease management decisions, medication adjustment, exercise safety decisions, evaluation of children or infants, occupational health screening, insurance evaluation, or any situation requiring clinical accuracy.

12. Terms Updates

We may update these Terms due to changes in product features, laws, platform requirements, or operational practices. When updated, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated Terms.
